Voice Services
TNS’ secure, reliable voice services are designed to support the mission-critical needs of traders at brokerage houses, investment banks and exchanges.
Ring downs provide direct, private voice communication between trading partners without the need for dialling. Typically, ring down circuits are presented to the trader via a turret phone system on their desk. For smaller firms, ring downs may be serviced through a normal phone connected to the office PBX.
Until recently, ring down circuits were provisioned using TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) technology connected by private Telco circuits dedicated to each voice connection. Telecommunication departments at both ends must co-ordinate together to match voice signalling and organise/manage information relevant to each connection.
TNS offers an improved way of installing and managing ring down circuits through its Routable Voice service. While TNS still offers customers traditional TDM services, it now offers and recommends that customers migrate to Routable Voice. It is based on IP technology – the same IP technology that institutions trust and rely upon for mission-critical electronic trading needs. With IP technology or specifically Voice-over-IP, ring down circuits are now deliverable as a service built on a resilient multi-carrier, auto fail-over design.
