Day Lewis Pharmacies Selects TNSPay for Processing

Background and Business Challenge

Day Lewis Pharmacies, the UK’s largest independent pharmacy group is based in Croydon and has 186 pharmacies, throughout the South and South-East of England. For payments processing, the company formerly used standalone bank terminals to process retail payments in their outlets. However, they knew there were better ways of doing things and decided to see what was on offer from various service providers.


The business turned to TNS and started using the TNSPay payment gateway. The solution has been integrated with Day Lewis’s point-of-sale system to provide support for approximately half-a-million card payments made throughout the company’s estate each year.

The TNSPay service also provides the company with more effective reporting and enhanced management information. Consolidating all card payments across the estate to a central processing service allows easier reconciliation. It also enables Day Lewis to gain quicker access to transactional information regarding card payments, through daily reports, a secure web based portal or even via export files, so they can import reconciliation data back in to their own systems, if they choose.

Day Lewis was very impressed with the company’s standing in the payments market, the expertise of its people and the importance placed on providing the highest levels of customer service.
