More Choice for ATM Communications as TNS Canada Extends its Services

For the first time in several years, banks and ISOs in Canada now have a choice of provider for ATM communications services following the launch of a new product by Transaction Network Services Canada, a subsidiary of Transaction Network Services.

The new service called TNSLink provides secure, flexible, high speed communications via 3G wireless channels. It is PCI DSS compliant and enables dial devices to leverage wireless technology to transport payment related data. TNSLink utilizes the TNS Canada managed Secure SSL Gateway, which has been specifically designed for the payments industry, to supply reliable, secure, and efficient delivery of transactions to ATM processors.

Average dial ATM transactions can take more than 20 seconds, but a typical TNSLink wireless transaction averages just 8 seconds, so ATMs can handle higher transaction volumes while increasing satisfaction among users. Greater availability and faster speeds equate to greater revenue opportunities for banks, ISOs and ATM operators. Improved performance also gives operators the ability to more efficiently deploy their ATM estate, since they can now handle more transaction volume with fewer machines.”

TNSLink’s wireless capabilities provide the flexibility to place ATMs in the locations where they can be most effective in driving revenue, while still offering secure and reliable payment communications.
