TNS Launches One-Stop Global GPRS Access Solution for Mobile Terminals Across Europe

Nov 08 2011

Transaction Network Services (NYSE:TNS) has launched a unique one-stop solution, that provides mobile point-of-sale terminals with access to TNS’ PCI DSS certified Secure Payments Network, and links to hundreds of acquirers and processors around the globe.

The new service provides secure, reliable connectivity to the TNS Secure Payments Network via a single global roaming SIM. To ease deployment for partners, TNS provides the SIM in a pre-activated state, which allows for instant operation when the SIM is needed by merchants.  The process is simplified since automated billing only begins after usage of the service actually starts. With the SIM able to roam across multiple networks, partners will also benefit from improved coverage and better uptime compared to single network SIM solutions.

Included within the solution is the TNS SIM Management Portal, which provides partners with the flexibility and control to ease provisioning and lower the total cost of ownership of SIM estates. The portal can be used to provision SIM cards, view and amend SIM status, examine connection history and perform diagnostics, all in real-time.

Ray Low, TNS’ Payments Division President said: “The Global Wireless Access service is a high-quality roaming SIM solution, connecting to the secure TNS network using resilient private connectivity.  Our customers value the standard of service we provide and the new solution gives them the ability to simplify supplier relationships across multiple countries, having just one trusted supplier to meet their merchant needs, regardless of where their merchants are located.”

With more than a decade of experience in providing wireless access for payments and over 150,000 SIM cards under management, TNS has earned the trust of banks and processors around the world to manage their wireless payment transactions.

TNS has a comprehensive range of payment services developed since entering the card transaction processing market as a Payment Service Provider (PSP) over 20 years ago. Through its broader payment solutions offering, TNS now connects over a million merchants and retailers to the world’s leading banks, acquirers and processors, enabling secure, efficient and cost-effective delivery and processing of payments. TNS’ global expertise extends to more than 60 countries across the Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Americas regions.
