Al has held his current role since January 2011 and his responsibilities cover a wide range of functions. These include taking personal responsibility for achieving prescribed revenue and pipeline targets, developing and implementing sales strategies and programmes, plus co-ordinating new business sales and associated technology adoption.
He also builds new strategic relationships with target customers, delivers presentations and tenders to business prospects and negotiates commercial and legal agreements with clients at a high level. Al also works with colleagues in TNS’ Marketing and Product Development teams to support the launch of new products and services.
Prior to assuming his present duties, Al, who joined TNS in 2000, was the organisation’s UK Sales and Account Manager and an Account Director, spending five years in each role. During that decade, he was responsible for securing significant contracts worth tens of millions of pounds for the organisation with numerous household name payments customers.
Earlier in his career, Al spent seven-and-a-half years in the banking sector, working initially for over five with HSBC as a Merchant Sales Manager, during which he won the organisation’s National Sales Manager of the Year Award three times in four years.
He then spent more than two years with Alliance & Leicester Group, where his roles included Corporate Sales Manger and Regional Manager for ATM Development in the North.
Al was born in North London but brought up in Sheffield, where he is now based. Away from TNS, he spends time with his partner Karen, and his three children. He also enjoys photography, gardening, socialising, fishing and aquatics.
