PA DSS Validation

There are now less than 15 months until the July 1st 2012 deadline from which all MasterCard service providers and merchants at levels 1-3 must use only     PA DSS validated payment applications.

The new TNSPay payment client is PA DSS-validated. Customers are therefore advised to contact their TNSPay account manager as soon as possible about upgrading or email solutions@tnsi.com, if they are still using an older, non-compliant application.

PED Sunset Dates

Customers are reminded that all non-PCI PED approved devices must be replaced by December 31st 2012.

TNSPay offers new PCI PED-approved PIN pads. Current customers are advised to contact their account manager or systems integrator for further information.  Potential customers needing additional assistance are welcome to email solutions@tnsi.com.

Maestro Alignment

MasterCard has mandated that from May 13th 2011 the acceptance and processing of UK Maestro cards will be aligned with their standard Global Maestro (non-UK Maestro) product. Some of the implications are:

  • Issue Number and Start Date: Changes to the UK Maestro card design mean that these cards will no longer have an issue number or start date.
  • Hot Card Files No Longer Supported: MasterCard are also withdrawing their support of Hot Card Files for UK Maestro cards.
  • Fallback to PAN Key Entry (PKE) or Paper Vouchers No Longer Permitted: Fallback to PKE or paper vouchers for customer present transactions will no longer be permitted. All customer present Maestro transactions must be captured and submitted electronically, using the chip or magstripe. PKE will, however, still be permitted for mail order/telephone order transactions involving UK-issued Maestro cards.
  • Four Digit Authorisation Codes: Authorisation codes for Maestro are changing from four to six digits.

The changes necessary in the light of the Maestro alignment are being made to TNSPay.  Actual or potential customers with any questions related to this topic are welcome to contact their account manager or email solutions@tnsi.com
