Support for Contactless Payments Now Offered by TNSPay for Retail

TNS is pleased to announce that TNSPay for Retail now supports contactless payments. By adopting contactless payments, merchants hope to see increased revenues, lower operating costs, less need to keep as much cash on the premises, faster throughput at tills and improved customer satisfaction.
Also known as “touch and go” or “wave and pay” transactions, contactless payments involve a shopper making payments worth up to £15 simply by holding their card against a reader. Buyers do not have to enter PINs for most transactions or sign their names.
TNSPay for Retail now supports contactless payments via the addition of an approved contactless reader. All transactions are processed by the TNSPay PA DSS validated payment client and delivered to the PCI DSS-certified TNSPay gateway.
Research from Visa has suggested the average value of a contactless transaction is just £4.30, indicating many people now see this form of a payment as a more attractive alternative to paying with cash for low value items. The figures also show that customers are starting to embrace this form of payment, which is why many retailers are showing interest in solutions that will support the way their customers want to pay.
With an increasing number of card issuers getting behind contactless payments, TNS expects to see an influx of replacement contactless-enabled cards entering the market this year, which will rapidly increase customer acceptance of this new technology.
Actual or potential customers interested in discovering more about how TNSPay for Retail can help them to handle contactless transactions should get in touch with their account manager or complete the form on this page.
