Managed networks connect merchants to payment processing vendors and other supply-chain businesses so they can leverage both the power of the Internet and the connections of value-added networks. Managed networks replace the various existing dial-up lines that are installed in a business’s property with a single, easily managed Internet connection. This is achieved by installing a dial-to-Internet Protocol (IP) conversion device that encrypts and transports business traffic over the Internet through a managed mediation point on its way to the payment processor of the business’s choice.
